Measure the circulation space too
If a door, passage or another stair flight meets the lower landing, include it in the survey. Ask to see the chair parked and the rail end in relation to those features. Do not infer suitability from a step count or one photograph.
Price the actual configuration
A short rail extension, folding section or powered option can change the proposed equipment. Request the exact arrangement in both new and reconditioned quotes, with every accessory listed. This avoids comparing a complete solution with a stripped-down base unit.
Keep other stair users in the plan
Ask how the chair folds and where it remains when unused. Have the provider explain remaining passage and the intended transfer positions. Only an individual assessment can determine whether the proposed arrangement is suitable for the user and property.
Keep the proposal comparable
- Exact equipment and a measured rail layout.
- Preparation, installation, demonstration and written terms.
- Servicing at the actual address, parts and removal responsibilities.
